ARTISTS IN MINNEAPOLIS!!!

Come draw with Anna Fleissner and I this Friday at 6:30 pm! We'll be meeting at the Espresso Royale near MCTC and then heading over to Loring Park to doodle if the weather is nice! Everyone is welcome, so feel free to bring friends and spread the word!

Cheekbones

I think I'm getting closer, but Benedict's cheekbones are just impossible.

Tiger

Tiger study. 30 mintues.

OWL

This was a short collaborative project that my friend Phong Tran and I worked on together.

I drew the owl and did some initial color tests.

Phong created the low poly model in 3ds Max.

I painted the textures in Photoshop and then created variations on the same texture for different effects. Painting this was a lot more challenging that I'd originally expected, but it was extremely fun and felt awesome once I started getting the hang of it.

OWLS!

 This was the first time I'd approached texturing like a digital painting. I fell in love with the process and can't wait to do it again!
